Signs in Trafford: good to know
- Who approves your sign
- Trafford Council is the planning authority for Trafford Park, the Trafford Centre, Old Trafford and Stretford, so any advertisement consent application goes to them (planning and building control). Most non-illuminated signs do not need one; lit signs usually do. Our planning guide explains the rules.
- Inside the Trafford Centre
- Shop units have to meet the centre's own signage specifications as well as any council consent, and our team fits outside trading hours to meet the centre's access rules. We worked to both for a storefront window scheme and for Premium Parking's car park signs, which were designed, made and installed in five days.
- Retail parks and showrooms
- Big sites are found from the road and the car park. For White Stores in Trafford Park we fitted LED lightboxes on the building and wayfinding from the car park to the door. For White City Retail Park we built freestanding signs tenants can move without tools.

Amazing work, never had a bad experience with these guys.
Will at Liberty signs have wrapped all of our vehicles over the past 7 years or so and each time I’m blown away with the quality. The team work to tight turnaround times and always deliver. Nothing is ever to much even when I’ve had adjustments made to the sign wrapping further down the line. I would 100% reccomend Liberty signs.

Common questions
Do I need consent for a shop sign at the Trafford Centre?
There are two approvals to think about. The centre has its own signage specifications for units, and Trafford Council handles advertisement consent where a sign needs it, which is usually the case for illuminated signs. Check both before you order; our planning guide covers the council side.
Can you make car park and wayfinding signs for a site in Trafford?
Yes. Post and panel signs, bollard covers and flat aluminium signs can be ordered online at live prices. Larger schemes are quoted: we designed, made and installed Premium Parking's signs at the Trafford Centre in five days.
Can I pick up my signs from Trafford Park?
Yes, collection is free. Choose Collect from workshop at checkout and we will let you know when your order is ready at Unit 8, Mosley Rd, Trafford Park, Manchester M17 1HQ.
