Window Frosting and Glass Manifestation: Privacy and Safety for Glass
Updated ·3 min read
Glass manifestation is a band of frosted markings, such as dots, a solid strip or your logo, applied to glass doors, screens and partitions so people can see the glass and do not walk into it. Ours is priced online from £24.00 including VAT and made in 2 to 3 working days. A solid frosted band also gives privacy at seated height, and full-pane frosted privacy film is quoted per job.

What glass manifestation is for
Large areas of clear glass can be hard to see, especially in bright light, so people can walk into them. Manifestation marks the glass so it stands out, and it is required on many glazed doors, screens and partitions under the Building Regulations, where people could otherwise walk into the glass.
If you are unsure whether your glass needs it, your building control body or facilities manager can advise. Manifestation is also a subtle way to put your brand on an office, a reception or a shopfront.
Our manifestation options
Glass manifestation is priced by the metre of 600mm-high banding, in three styles:
- Frosted dots: classic rows of 65mm dots, the standard manifestation pattern.
- Solid frosted band: a continuous 600mm frosted strip, which also blocks the view through the glass.
- Custom cut pattern or logo band: your logo or pattern contour-cut into the band.
Enter how many metres you need and the calculator shows your price, including VAT. Standard production takes 2 to 3 working days, with priority and express production available for an extra charge.
Frosting for privacy
Frosted vinyl lets daylight through while blocking the view, which makes it a simple way to add privacy without losing light. A solid 600mm frosted band at seated height works well for:
- meeting rooms and glass-fronted offices
- treatment rooms in beauty salons and barbers
- surgeries and consulting rooms in dental practices and clinics
- window tables in cafés and restaurants
For whole panes of frosted privacy film, printed window graphics or a mix of clear and frosted areas, send us the number and size of the windows and the look you want on our quote page, and we will come back with a price.
Branding on glass
A custom cut band turns a safety requirement into branding: your logo or a pattern in your brand style, repeated along the glass. It suits offices, estate agents and any frontage where the glass is the first thing visitors see. If you need help with the artwork, our design service is priced on the product page.
Measuring your glass
Because manifestation is priced by the metre, measure the width of each pane or door that needs it and add them together. Note which are doors and which are fixed panes, and take a photo of each run of glass. If you are not sure how much you need, send the measurements and photos to us and we will help.
Fitting
Manifestation is supplied with application tape for fitting. If you would rather we fit it, tick professional installation at checkout. Nothing is charged for it there: our team contacts you to discuss your site and confirm a price, and delivery is included when we install. We deliver and install UK-wide from our Manchester production HQ.
