Which should you choose?
Choose Foamex if
- The sign is for indoors, a retail or event display, or shorter-term outdoor use.
- You want a thicker panel: Foamex comes in 3mm, 5mm, 10mm and 19mm.
- You want a dry-wipe laminate you can write on.
- You want the lower price: it costs less at every size in the table above.
Choose aluminium if
- The sign is going outside for years: aluminium composite stays flat and stands up to the weather.
- It is a fascia, building or site sign.
- You want the material used for signtrays and post and panel signs.
Common questions
Which is cheaper, Foamex or aluminium?

How long do they take to make and deliver?
Both take 3 working days to make at our Manchester production HQ, counted from proof approval. Standard UK delivery £9.95 (3 to 5 working days), free on orders over £150 inc VAT. Next day delivery £14.95.
Is Dibond the same as aluminium composite?

Can Foamex be used outside?
Yes, for shorter-term outdoor use. For a sign that needs to last outdoors for years, aluminium composite is the better choice.

Amazing work, never had a bad experience with these guys.
Will at Liberty signs have wrapped all of our vehicles over the past 7 years or so and each time I’m blown away with the quality. The team work to tight turnaround times and always deliver. Nothing is ever to much even when I’ve had adjustments made to the sign wrapping further down the line. I would 100% reccomend Liberty signs.
